Thailand
Thailand located in the Southeast Asia on the gulf of Thailand, the Andaman Sea and covering an area of 513,115 sq. km. and shares boundaries with Union of Myanmar on the West and North; to the North and Northeast it borders the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR); to the East it borders the Kingdom of Cambodia; and the South it borders Malaysia.
The East region
The East region is 2 hours drive from Bangkok, it takes you to Pattaya city, the renowned recreation centre on the east coast. Its fine sand, blue sky and limpid sea are among many other good things that prove irresistible to both foreign and domestic tourists, Pattaya city is the fame of Chonburi province.
The Northeast region
The Northeast region is known as “Isan” the Northeast is a huge region with over 30 million inhabitants; the most of them are engaged in agriculture. The Northeast consists mostly of a plateau. Some may think that this area is dry and lifeless. But in fact, it has large numbers of tourist spots, especially sites of historical and archaeological significance.
The Southern region
The Southern region is hilly to mountainous with thick forest and rich deposits of mineral and ores. This region is the centre for production of rubber. The South’s wealth has been based for centuries on its rubber and tin industries, the South stretch along the narrow peninsula of Thailand from Chumphon to Malaysian border. The Andaman Sea coast on the west with numerous offshore islands and a beautiful underwater world offers many fascinating travel opportunities to the sea loving tourists.
The North region
The north of Thailand contrasts greatly with the busy city of Bangkok and the high energy beach resorts of the south. The main destination is the ancient capital of the northern kingdom of "Lanna," Chiang Mai. The city recently celebrated the 700th anniversary of its founding. The original city is still defined by a square perimeter wall surrounded by a moat. Within and without are a number of temples, some of which date to the city's founding. Chiang Mai is home to many factories for the manufacture of silks, lacquerware, silver and other traditional crafts. The factories can be toured in the daytime, and a wide variety of goods may be purchased at the city's famous night bazaar. The best places to stay are, in fact, all within walking distance of the night bazaar.
